Tai Chi Life Lessons

Q: Three birds on a tree. One decides to fly. How many birds are left?

A: Three.

Q: How come?

A: Because decisions are not enough for something to happen. The bird has to take “action” after taking a decision.

A few weeks ago I decided to learn Tai Chi and I took action. I attended a few lessons and I’ll continue doing it enshallah (God Willing) not only because of its health benefits, but also, because doing it, for a relatively very short time, taught me great lessons in life.

Here are the lessons…

Yes.. I knew

Yes.. I knew

Yes, I knew you were there just in front of me.

Yes, I knew you were looking at me.

Yes, I remember how we used to be.

Yes, I forgive you for what you did unintentionally.
A Photo I took
of the Egyptian Band Cairokee playing at City Stars Mall

Yes, I am now free.

Yes, you were right to remind me..

that holding on to the past isn't for me

I never let the past hold me

Thanks for reminding me

Yes, I walked away intentionally

Yes, I am free

I was inspired the words of this poem on 27 February after Cairokee's Concert at City Stars Mall.

Great Band , you should check them out if you don't already know them.

Thanks for letting go

“Excessive caution destroys the soul and the heart, because living is an act of courage, and an act of courage is always an act of love” - Manuscript found in Accra

An unhealthy Relationship

Letting go of an unhealthy relationship is an act of courage and an act of love. It is love of life, and faith in Allah (Most gracious most merciful).

Not all of us have the courage to let go of an unhealthy relationship. We like to believe in our ability to fix things and make things work perfectly. We are afraid to admit to ourselves that despite everything we did it still isn’t getting any better. We bear the unbearable in hope that we can make it work. We like to believe that everything will be alright, that we made the right choices.

Superheroes & Tai Chi

I was asked to prepare a 6 minutes presentation about any topic as part of a diploma I am doing. I decided to ask my friends on Facebook about topics that might be interesting. Most of them was interested in motivation and managing stress.

It’s really hard these days to stay in a positive mood, and remain motivated with all the challenges we are facing today in Egypt. Prices are getting higher but no raise in salaries to cover that increase. A lot of people lost their Jobs, lost their loved ones and many lost their lives since the revolution of 25th of Jan. Life in Egypt these days have become very stressful.
